Couple of interesting things here:
-Nurse is the 5th highest rated defenceman, ranked here at 17th,
-Hudson Fasching raises to the 33rd spot (taken 118th by Los Angeles),
-Emile Poirier slots into the 23rd spot (taken by the Flames at 22), although at 22 this was a bit of a surprise during the draft, not so much based on this. Button and the rest of the scouting staff identified the talent appropriately.
-Hunter Shinkaruk plays only 18 games due to hip surgery and places 21st
-The 26th to 29th slip out of the first round, which includes Klimchuck.

2012

2012 is not as interesting because it is 2 years out and there are 11 NHLer’s reducing the amount of players involved in placement
-nice to see Jon Gillies at 30th, the biggest gain on the list after being drafted 75th
-Griffen Reinhart at 14 stands out a bit.
-Though Grigorenko would have slipped a bit more.
-Not surprised that Jankowski falls out of the 1st round and he is not the only one.
So essentially Shinkaruk loses an entire year of development, yet manages to be higher on this list than his actual draft position? Interesting......

As for the Flames' guys, it's nice to see Poirier slot in at 22. I think it was Sureloss that pointed out the Poirier pick was more of a "reach" than the Jankowski pick (based on various pre-draft rankings).

Gillies has put together a couple of very impressive seasons since being drafted. Even then I'm surprised to see him rank as a 1st rounder here.
