How he personally plays is important so in that regard maybe him dominating and winning is the best outcome but if he loses this game and plays well it isn't going to make him a worse player at the NHL level.

Agreed partially. However, I do think success breeds success, and quite a few fans wishing failure on him should think twice about what that means. Doubly so since that attitude is completely selfish, self-centred and arrogant. I'd rather he enjoy success this weekend in the NCAA final than fail today, sign and play in an utterly meaningless game against Vancouver.
Oh, and tie game!
