Not to forget the availability of the Flames training and medical staff, along with development coaches and nutritionists who can tune his diet, his workout schedule, and set a weight gain goal/plan.
Include another year of hockey development into the mix too.
Not much of an advantage if you look at what he'd be missing out on for another year.

I'm sure a school like BC has world class equipment, and great trainers. The advantage there would be allot more work out and practice time.
the advantage the NHL/AHL would give is quality of competition, and hockey specific trainers/coaches. As well as tougher competition and schedule.
