To be honest I dont think of Joe as a big guy. He is really tall but not a big guy - or even one of the flames bigger guys. Thats something he can work on this off-season.

Sutter? You mean Suter?

Yeah... in my opinion (and many other peoples)that is one of the top 5 ice hockey defencemen on this planet. He does that on a nightly basis to players far more experienced, accomplished and stronger than Joe Colborne.

I can't think of many D-men with a higher value and overall ability than Suter.

Shea Weber, Alex Pietrangelo, P.K. Subban, Erik Karlsson, Ryan Suter.
That is probably my top 5 in no particular order. Obviously P.K. and Karlsson are different types of defencemen then the others but i'm sure you get my point. This is the top echelon of players in this position today.

Next point being..yes Colborne got dominated by Suter. But so do the vast majority of the forwards who come up against him and the few other D-men like him. + Joe has barely played 82 games in the NHL. I just dont see how this is a valid criticism of Joe.

Thats a bit like saying - well Wotherspoon just got completely physically dominted by Lucic - he couldnt handle him. Or saying - wow Breen is just unable to catch or take the puck from Datsyuk.

I just dont see it as a valid / fair criticism at this point in their career when you look at what/who they are going up against / being compared to. IMO Colborne has been probably our second most improved youngster after Monahan who has just gotten better every game. We should be picking out the positives rather than the very small negatives in his game since he moved to wing.
