I haven't really followed up on this story in the last few days, but after watching parts of the doctor's press conference, it appears that Peverley's A Fib did degenerate to a rapid ventricular arrhythmia- so, they did in fact use an AED, and not a manual cardioversion for A Fib, on him at the arena and he would have likely been a goner had an AED not been present... scary.
It is rare for young people to have A Fib, but it is extremely rare for A Fib to degenerate to V Fib... usually only happens in people with Wolff Parkinson White, which Peverley apparently doesn't have.
Anyway, he's off to have an ablation.
