They brought in a tonne of guys with good pedigree but they didn't mesh. I'm not saying this is guaranteed to happen with the Broncos but there is some precedent here.

If this was offense, and with a QB that wasn't Peyton Manning caliber, I would agree, but since it's on the other side of the ball, chemistry isn't as important in order for the unit to be efficient. The risk isn't as high as it would be with offense. As long as each player do their individual role, the defense should perform better than last season, which is why the signings were made.
