There are many different strategies from technical to fundamental or both combined. For me I use a few different strategies. I have my value long term growth stocks like V, IRE, GTAT, EZPM in my portfolio. I also play momentums stocks like hoping to catch big runners and then getting out when the technical signals tell me to.

no, i don't really invest in real life, but i should. i really want to create a basic but solid diverse portfolio, but don't really know how to balance all the different ways to look at it.
i have not been to a financial advisor in a long time, and don't really feel comfortable handing my money over to somebody to manage it for me.
so far, i seem drawn to mining stocks, gold and silver and a sprinkling of diamond, which is pretty risky. really need to spread it out.
