Oh please. I've seen tons of games decided on reffing alone, the difference is much bigger than in figure skating. The margin for error in figure skating is much smaller for the athlete to even have a chance. If the Russian falls a jump or makes a mistake, she's done.

The "controversies" in figure skating come only in the very top, where it's really, really hard to say which of the top performers was the very best. It's always the same; those that have no skin in the game or who favoured the winner think the results were fair. Those who lost cry and whine.

Oh and, nobody is saying that Kim was second over the French because of the refs, no, that was clear apparently. Based on what really? Why wasn't the third place fixed? Olympic medals are big deals.
