So very true. A good nights rest is so important, spending the money on a good mattress is a solid strategy.
Sadly, I fell into the buy what feels decent at the time. We bought a King Bed frame that form Ikea that had their Sultan Mattress on. Felt unreal at the store but when we got it home and set up, it didn't seem quite as comfortable as at the store. I was coming off a Futon mattress so basically everything felt better.
But the one thing that really made it good was a couple of years ago, my parents bought as a memory foam pillow top.

I'll be the first to admit it takes a bit of getting used too but man, these things are money. Perfectly molds to your body each time you get on top of it. It still trips me out a bit jumping onto it at night and feeling myself sink in.
I'd be very interested to see how a full on memory foam mattress is like in comparison. I sometimes worry we are spoiling ourselves when we have to sleep on a different bed.
