Regher has always been better than Murray but I think it is safe to say his trade to the Kings definitely helped out his career and the price of 2 2nds shows what a good GM can get when the trade market is inflated. Guys who play Regher's style always get old overnight and it looked like it might have happened to Regher before he got out of Buffalo
But I don't see what this discussion even has to do with the (awful) Feaster trade anyways. There was no indication that Regher had lost a step during his last year in Calgary and even the day of the trade it was obvious Feaster got a terrible return for a top 4 dman with a good contract
by far his worst move (because the ROR and Richards things didn't happen)

It was a bad move for sure. If a real legitimate future telling crystal ball appeared, and we were to look to "what if Robyn Regehr played for the Buffalo Sabres minus Butler and Byron", then we got fair value for Regehr. His actual worth at the time should have gotten a better return, no question.
