You´re talking about Calder race where age doesn´t factor in as much as points or performance. I was talking about who has been the most impressive rookie and what Barkov and MacKinnon are doing at the age 18 is more impressive (to me) than what Hertl or Monahan. Like I said, one year of development at that age is huge.
But yes, I should have put Monahan up there with Hertl. Hertl had that one huge game, otherwise they have been equally impressive and it looks like the race for Calder is between them. edit: Jones and Krug probably in the race
To put in perspective:
Rookie (pts) Team leader (pts)
Hertl (18) Pavelsky (22)
Monahan (14) Hudler (21)
Barkov (9) Fleichmann (12)
MacKinnon (12) Duschene (20)
They are all producing relatively at the same pace compared to the team leader. Difference is Barkov and MacKinnon are doing it a year younger.
