The Flames are a mid-table team now only because of it being early on and the East having so many bad teams. Once they start playing each other the Flames will drop down to the bottom of the league just like they are at the bottom of the Western Conference.
The Flames have been outplayed in a majority of their games this year and are further away from the play-offs than any other season in the past 20 years.
I guess for you you can have hope but my guess that is much more on your optimism than anything that Hartley has done as a coach because so far based on results and play on the ice there is little hope to get from him.

What are you talking about? Aside from the games in Dallas and San Jose we've outplayed, outshot and out chanced almost every night. This team on paper should be in Edmonton territory and the fact that although the losses are starting to pile up, we've been competitive in almost every game. If we had even better than average goaltending we'd have 3 or 4 more wins. Aside from some debatable line up/scratches, Hartley's doing fine.
