I don't think Monahan's game will fall off the face of the earth. He just thinks the game so well that he knows where to go on the ice to be successful. That goal tonight was emblematic of that. He didn't make a great play on it to deke the goalie out, just that he was in the exact right place that he needed to be in order to score if the rebound came available and he was there. You've seen that with most of his goals and assists. Just knowing where he or the puck needed to go in order for a scoring chance.

His hockey IQ is elite, even though the rest of his skills are not quite there. He still needs to get stronger on the puck as an example.

Also, if this keeps up, there is no way that we will be picking McDavid after this season. If you add Gaudreau, Poirier and Klimchuk to this lineup (which isn't out of line for their play to this point this year), the Flames could very well make the playoffs next season. I have to give major props to the scouting staff, they have found several very good players. This is the reason why I was giving rave reviews back in July. These guys are just damn good.
