Bottom line: If Monahan is still a roster regular contributing to the team then there's no reason to send him to the World Juniors.
The only arguments I've seen in support are the thinly veiled wants of fans who hope to see a Flames prospect play. For a professional hockey organization that isn't even on the list of possible reasons to send him.
Which leads to me wonder why fans continually fail to learn this lesson. 18-19 year olds producing in the NHL are NEVER sent to the WJC. Why doesn't this sink in?
