Perhaps, they'd be happier if they could go out and card 58's every round.......

I disagree to a certain extent- the 1st round leader in the majors almost always comes from the morning wave. Conditions in a major tournament get considerably more difficult in the afternoon as the course gets firmer- especially when the pin positions are tough like they are here. Yes, the morning and afternoon groups get swapped around on the second day, but there is a lot to be said from getting ahead early in the tournament as opposed to needing to play catch up on friday. Shooting well under par on thursday, and then only needing to shoot even or 1 under on friday is much more preferable im sure. I guess the argument is not everyone can play in the morning and it probably isn't fair to water the greens before the afternoon wave.
Tiger's 2 under in the afternoon is probably as good as the 5 unders from the morning.
By the way, has Tiger dropped 10 pounds or so? Maybe trying to return to his skinnier frame ala early 2000s
