However, his development path took the same route that Dion Phaneuf's did. Good success to start and then it stagnated and eventually declined.
Gillies has the potential to be a star goalie (top 5 in the league good) if he gets a little quicker. Everyone had a really hard time beating him when they were shooting at him. The only easier way to score on him was to get him moving and hope that an opening got created.
