The NHL/NHLPA provide Zero compensation for losing drafted players that refuse to sign with their drafted teams.
Unlike the NFL and MLB where they do receive compensation. Look to just the recent Bluejay situation with drafted Bickford.

There is no reason the NHL and NHLPA can't agree to this for the NHL. Other than they are far far apart from being a partnership.
