The Blues have better/better value guys and needed to clear space on their team to re-sign some RFA's and fit in guys they already have.
With Oshie, Steen, Tarasenko and Roy/Berglund/Backes they already have 4 guys who can easily play top 6 arguably are better than Perron. Through in Stewart and Schwartz and it makes more sense to pay MPS a couple of million less to play in the top 9 than Perron.
