Frankly, the Flames-Canucks rivalry thing is overblown, and largely confined to this board, as far as I can see. Talk to a sportswriter in Montreal or Detroit or LA and ask him about the great NHL rivalries. He'll mention Philly-Pittsburgh, Montreal-Boston, Pittsburgh-Washington, Toronto-Montreal, Chicago-St.Louis, Detroit-Colorado. Might even mention Calgary-Edmonton. But the Calgary-Vancouver thing is pretty short-lived. We're talking about what - one playoff series ten years ago? It's a big deal to some Calgary fans of a certain age - not coincidentally an age that's over-represented on this board. But it's not much of a thing otherwise.
