or perhaps they had similar influences in their lives and thus see things from a similar perspective...... crazy I know

The Friars were an extremely young team this year.
They carried only 6 seniors this year and that includes the backup goalie who only played while Gillies was in Russia at the WJC and Chris Rooney who played only 14 games. Schaller who you mentioned as the 20+ point guy that is graduating was also their only senior to finish in the top 10 in team scoring.
They also had 14 Freshmen and Sophomores play in at least 20 games this year, that is a pretty staggering number. 7 of their top 10 scorers were among this group too.
I am not 100% sure but I do believe it was their coaches first year at the school as well, all things considered I think they will improve quite a bit offensively offensively this year. And could even win Hockey East.

Gauthier is extremely raw, of course he is a bit clumsy. He is very good defensively (one of the top in the QMJHL), one of the the best faceoff guys in the Q and plays with a bit of a mean streak as well.

Excellent post. Things like this seem to be ignored.

And so would Monahan's as he served a 10 game suspension and missed time for the WJC camp. His percentage may even be close to 50% with that factored in.
