I remember seeing this bird around YBW in my flight training days.
Reports are that one engine failed, and notably the single engine service ceiling for the Cougar would be around 4500' in ideal conditions. So no surprise he ended up settling onto terra firma. Good job by the pilot and glad he is ok.

I've spent my fair share of hours in DBD. Its interior had recently received a huge make-over and it was always made available by the owner for a great price since being retired from the training fleet. 'Tis a bloody sad day.
