How do you know what he's like in the dressing room, at practice, on team events, etc.? All we see is what happens during the games. The vast majority of us have no idea what he's like behind the scenes. Maybe he does lecture his teammates. Maybe he screams at them? Maybe he's calm and is more of a nurturer. You don't know any of this. I don't either. I like how he doesn't air the team's dirty laundry to the media. I like how he's always smiling during interviews. I think they do a good job of keeping business that happens behind closed doors, behind the closed doors. JBo had the same knock, that he wasn't a vocal guy, yet none of us are around him to know if he is quiet or loud. Giving interviews to the media doesn't make you a good or bad captain.
Look at Bill Belichick with the Patriots. He says basically nothing during his interviews, but whenever you see behind the scenes shots of him in practice or in games, he's as intense and knowledgeable as anyone. Maybe that's how Iggy was. I don't know, because there weren't cameras during his speeches. Many great players have talked about his great leadership skills. I think I'd take those words on his capabilities rather than those who just watch him on TV.
