Not sure how losing Briere for nothing was mismanagement. It's not like an NHL leading team with eyes on a deep playoff run were going to trade their leading scorer because he was an upcoming UFA. Signing him before the season started to a reasonable contract would have been good, but I'm glad they didn't offer him and Drury the outrageous contracts they ended up getting. That would have set the franchise back even further than losing them did.
Adam Pardy has 4 assists and is +6 in his seven games since being called up a couple weeks ago. Not bad for eating salay.
And the Stafford signing made sense at the time. He scored 31 goals in 62 games that season.
Not every GM is going to hit bulls-eyes all the time. Many of the moves made logical sense, but some of the pieces didn't quite fit and the coaching was a disaster.
I can't justify the Leino signing though. Still don't know what was going through his head that day. Hopefully they buy him out this summer.
