With his picks in Calgary we have players who play huge roles with their respective teams aka Gaudreau, Gillies, Brossoit, Wotherspoon, Sieloff and are getting recognized by hockey writers and media.

Feasters draft record with Flames soo far. Lots of potential, I agree that none have actually panned out yet. But it sure seems like he's going in the right direction and making good picks.

Even GM's that come from a hockey background are not involved in anyone after the 1st round pick (i.e. only involved in scouting their 1st rounder). Usually, and especially the case with Feaster and Feaster has said this, he lets his scouts do their job. All those players would have been drafted with or without Feaster; Feaster's main job is the NHL transactions, trades (fail) and signings (fail).
Also, of the 2 1st round picks mentioned here; its confirmed that the Flames draft list had Ryan Murphy (7th on our list, Sven was 8th)... so we lucked out there. Jankow? We'll see.... I don't mind the pick, but can't celebrate victory yet.
When looking at the overall body of work from Feaster, it can be summarized as:
- dodged bullets (Brad Richards, Ryan Smyth, ROR fiasco)
- PR nightmare (ROR, Iginla to Boston)
- took midrange team and sunk it to a last place team
- more NTC/NMC, but this time to bottom pairing and press box defenseman rather then top 6 fwd / top 4 D
- "hands were tied" trades
