Sven has flashes of brilliance for sure, but if you watch game in game out the kid gets pushed off the puck, turn-overs, loses puck battles, etc...an NHL coach is smart enough to see this and adjusts icetime accordingly.

He's allowed to make mistakes and develop, but he should also be held accountable and realize what he needs to work on. He'll be the better player for it in the long-run.

People rag on Hartley cause Comeau gets increased icetime and trust and Sven doesn't. That's because Comeau, despite his lack of offense, is never a liability at both ends of the ice - hate him all you want but he's earned the coach's trust....Sven will too, just give it time...

I've actually liked the way Hartley reads his players' momentum, match-ups, and shuffles lines accordingly...people seem to forget the insane mess Brent would combine...
I'm ragging because we're sitting 12th in the West and 23rd overall. And say what you want about liability, Comeau is tied for 3rd worse on the team in plus minus.

Also, I agree with you about holding him accountable but that's not my issue. You can hold many guys accountable for their efforts but it seems to always be the "younger" guys that get reprimanded.

I don't recall saying "coddling" or giving our prospects the velvet glove treatment. I want our young guys to get a legitimate chance to fail and succeed.

So laugh at the post all you want.
