Same thing you see from defenceman all the time, someone comes across the line with their head down and you absolutely crush them, however if you hit them in a dirty manner you are at fault. It's the way it's always been.

Hall was aiming for the hip, you can see how he leads into it with his own hip. Had Clutterbuck been watching and lower to the ice instead of straight legged and coasting it would have been harmless.
