Edmonton has done just that with Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov.
I think their management is the most incompetent in the NHL, but the org itself has done a good job of selling hope to that city by rebuilding and through top draft picks.
I'd rather see a clear direction either way than this silliness of "Well we're going to rebuild and be competitive at the same time
" nonsense Feaster and King try to sell.
