The extremely unfortunate fact of all this discussion is that neither of these players were drafted in-house. Iginla was basically a miracle from a pick in the 1980's in Nieuwendyk and Kiprusoff from Vlasic.
Hell, even players who were drafted by Florida have experienced more success. Luongo, Horton, even Special Nieds. Gelinas deserves special mention for playing on both the Oilers AND the Canucks.
Calgary's cup winning team had the following key players drafted in-house. The formula for success is the same as it always has been.
