-Rappers use instrumentals to recite their lyrics over
-Rappers put emotions and expression into there lyrics (listen to Immortal Technique's song "Dance with the Devil" if you think otherwise)
I'm sure you are purely basing this off of the majority of the crappy rappers out there but hip hop/rap music contains the requirement to be considered music.
