I was in the same boat as you oilers_fan and after talking a buddy into helping me put it together I got what seems like twice the machine for around the same price. I was looking at a similar computer (tiny bit more $) with the same video card and going off Torque's link it's ranked at 396th, where the video card I end up putting in my set up is ranked 12th.
Why purchase something if you are just going to end up putting in another $150-200 on a video card and/or $40-60 in a new power supply when you can get get it right from the start.
As someone who just went on a big hunt trying to find a decent computer at a decent price pre-built it's tough. They seem to build to be attractive to a regular consumer because they only look at RAM, HD and GHz so they put an excessive amount (ie 10GB of RAM) to appeal to that but it usually lacks in other areas like the video card.
