I also wouldn't think about 2014, there's a 0% chance England are winning a WC in Brazil, I to me it's one of the south american squads. I will be ecstatic with a QF
I would start focusing on 2016 right now, meaning no one under 28/29, and build towards something like
Hart
Walker/Smalling/Caulker/Baines
Jones/Wilshere
Ox/Rooney/Walcott
Welbeck
other possibilities
Gibbs, Shaw, Sterling, Zaha, Cleverely, Sturridge, Rodwell, Henderson

Right. Glen Johnson. How did I miss him. I still think it'd be awesome to see Barton get a run out.
In this qualifying, Roy has to offer an olive branch to Carrick. He's been stiffed ridiculously. He initiates that with offering Carrick a starting 11 spot at Wembley against a world super power.
Two things. I rate Young ahead of Ox & Jones in place of Smalling. . Young can slot in forward if needed. The World Cup isn't a development camp.
Carrick goes. Heres' my compomise:
-------------- Hart
- Walker - Jones - Caulker - Baines
------- Carrick Wilshere
---Walcott - Rooney - Young
------------ Welbeck
