The heart of downtown is not the issue. It's the people coming from Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Gilbert have to go across the entire Phoenix area to get to Glendale.
I went to a few games downtown in the other arena. THAT area is centrally located and easy to get to and a fun place to hang out. If only the team and PHO were able to get a a plan on a downtown venue, I don't think we'd be having this discussion today. I went to the playoff games in 2002 and it was an absolute blast (especially since SJ won both games).
