Darrel Bevell, Seattle's OC missed out on the Jacksonville job, as it was taken by the Seattle DC Bradley, when he finished second in Philly to Kelly.
Not a huge loss in Bradley. The defense got better this year thanks to the horses that Schnieder and Carroll brought in up front on the line, and in the draft at LB...and the secondary kept on its path. To get even better next year, they need more pass rush on the line, and a bit more depth up front and at LB too.
Quinn coached the D line in Seattle a few years back, so knows some of these guys, so its a good hire.
Bevell has now been given an extension by Seattle. Wilson made the offense what it was, which was anemic last year under Bevell with Tavares and Whitehurst...but credit to Bevell for adapting to Wilson, after planning to have a traditional west coast offense with Flynn all summer. He eased Wilson into the games a bit at the end of preseason and the first 4 or 5 games of the regular season, and then took the reigns off the playbook for Wilson about the 6th game of the season, and Seattle took off.
Some OC's would be stubborn and force the rookie QB to do things thier way, thankfully
Bevell didn't. The continuity for a young QB to have with his OC is good, too.
Looks like Trestman is clearing house in Chicago, and word is he's bringing some guys down with him from MTL...maybe even Milanovitch from Toronto.
