By what measurables is Greinke better than guys like David Price, Felix Hernandez, and Justin Verlander, plus Kershaw to be considered this good? His Whip is higher, His K rate is lower. Has he been exceptionally unlucky for three straight years with his BABIP? Is he that much better than Jerred Weaver I mean he's a legit top of the rotation guy, but is he top three in the majors? What am I missing? For a free agent he is pretty young, but at nearly 25 million per year, what type of WAR number do you need to justify that?
5 million per WAR so it's not bad deal at all actually. I expected he'd sign a much bigger contract.

Top 3 in FIP since 2009- Lee (2.86) Kershaw (2.87) Greinke, Halladay, Verlander (all at 2.93). Steep price but he's in that class.

He's incredibly durable. I think with him pitching in a pitcher friendly ballpark in a very weak hitting division he becomes a Top 3 pitcher, especially with how durable he is. He's without question top 5, I just like him enough that I guess I put him in my own personal 3.

I also don't think we have any clue to the extent of his social anxiety. If it's still even a problem, if somehow it's only limited to him pitching in smaller markets as opposed to big ones.
