Starting December 1, the amount of cash back you can earn on gas and groceries will be reduced from 3% on the first $600 to 2% on the first $400 per month (so, $8 to you). Thereafter you will get 1% on up to $1250 of spending per month ($12.50 to you).

I believe the MBNA Smart Cash World card doesn't have the $1250 limit, but it still is massively nerfed.
