Well the NCAA has a lot of teams. There is also some big disparity with super strong programs and weaker ones. Schedules can be biased early with 2 games against a strong or weak team. And obviously they are including goalies with limited sample sizes of games.

The top two goalies on this list have 1 game played with a shutout. If you include goalies with only 3+ starts then Gillies is ranked 10th nationwide. However this list claims to only include goalies that have played 33% of their teams games. The stats will probably even out as the season goes on it is hard to judge much on samples sizes of 1-6 games. Harvard hasn't let a goal in yet for example.
One stat that stood out to me is that Jacob Trouba a 1st rounder from last year already has 6 points in 5 games from the defense.
