But no I don't think the the Giants are that impressive in terms of play-off calibre teams. Obviously better than a run of the mill team in the league. But a team I think the Cards should beat.

The Giants won 94 games during the regular season and are built, in theory, for the playoffs with their rotation. True their rotation wasn't as dominant this year, but they have the potential and showed it in 2010. Their hitting has been clutch this year, especially in the second half, and they are very sound defensively.
The Cardinals won 88 games, the lowest of any playoff team, even with Houston in their division.
The teams were 3-3 against each other during the regular season. There are no easy teams in the playoffs. That's what a 162 game schedule produces.
