That's the part that actually irks me. That and he seems like a me first dbag most of the time.
I can forgive Cornish when he acts like a dbag because it seems like it stems from him being a little hot headed, a little too honest and frequently being taken out of context for the purpose of sensationalizing an athlete's quotes.
Lewis on the other hand, his comments seem premiditated, while Cornish's comments seem to be in the heat of the moment.
To each his own I guess. I'll be honest I give Cornish a lot of props for standing up for himself too. He's not afraid to post over at Rider fans, even though regrettably but understandably they treat him like garbage, and stand up to the criticism. Lewis, to me, seems like a guy who doesn't take a lot of responsibility for his actions. And yes I'm aware Cornish has been accused of similar stuff but I think I've made it quite clear why I'm willing to let some stuff go from him which I've outlined in my last 2 posts.
Big picture though, I think some of Calgary's problems the last few years is that they have too many guys like Lewis and Cornish. Just too many guys who don't just tow the company line and spew boring cliches all the time. We all remember the TD celebrations that were more about the dance than the actual play, the outbursts of Lewis, Cornish, Anderson, Browner et al. For how much of a hard ass as Huff seems I've often wondered if he really has had control of the room the whole time he's been here. And I'm not sure if his predecessors were running a tight ship either.
Granted every team in the CFL has at least one or two of those guys but it seems like Calgary had too many and not just that but I think it often created a less than desireable team atmostphere. I don't think Henry being run out of town was just because of his play (although it certainly made the decision a lot easier given his performance last season).
