Default WEEK 12: Bombers at STAMPEDERS

WEEK 12: I think the toughest game Stampeders is when they are playing a team who is struggling. It seems like whenever they do, they become over-confident and lose focus. It happenned twice already this season both against the Argonauts. I hope the Stampeders learned from that lesson and start taking advantage of a lesser team. The Bombers is a joke from top to bottom. Players are so undisciplined and take a lot of penalties. The coach passed up on trying to kick a field goal and punted instead. The General Manager refused to sign a player that will improve their team.

OFFENSE:

As expected RB Jon Cornish won the Canadian Player of the Week the 3rd week in a row with his performance against the Eskimos. Cornish rushed 16 times for 185 yards giving him the league leading 827 rushing yards of the season. Only Orville Lee leads the CFL in rushing yards as a non-import. Only 2 Stampeders RB won the CFL rushing title. Twice by Joffrey Reynolds(2008 and 2009) and Gary Allen(1986).

R Romby Bryant is questionable on this game leads the team with 5 catches for 96 yards last game. If Romby can't play, rookie R Maurice Price will take his spot.

QB Kevin Glenn did the job last week. It wasn't pretty but he won the game against the Eskimos. He passed for 254 yards with 2 TD but unfortunately threw a couple of INT at the Stamps end zone. He won 3 games in a row but the downside was he threw 4 INTs in the last two games luckily it didn't cost them the game on both occassions.

DEFENSE:

Stamps held the Eskimos 4-headed monster to less than 20 yards in rushing total.

MLB Juwan Simpson led the team in tackles again last game vs Eskimos with 9 tackles and now 6th in the CFL with 52 tackles. Rookie DB made his CFL debut last game with 5 tackles.

Calgary sits 7th in the league in takeaways with 14 and 7th in takeover ratio at -9. They are also 3rd in the CFL for QB sack with 19 sacks. DL Charleston Hughes leads the team with 5 QB sacks.

Calgary just signed former Stamps enemy Stevie Bagg. He will replace Kenny Pettway, who is questionable for this game.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Larry Taylor got injured last game and will be gone for awhile. Calgary signed returner Jason Armstead to take his place but he won't play against the Bombers. LaMarcus Coker will be the Stamps' returner on this game.
