Just like people buy BMWs over faster Cobalts, or Colgate over some generic brand toothpaste etc. And with the phone, the price is the same as any upscale android so it’s not like you have to pay a heavy price.

What is the point of upgrading to every single model that they put out then?
If they're such fine quality products they should work and relatively up to date for at least one or two generations. I'm using a Nokia E71 right now (lost my S3) that has worked PERFECTLY for 4 years. Thats a fine, quality product.

As long as you're not getting the flagship phones, then they are pretty cheap.
You can buy a new HTC for like $300 outright and it can do all the basic things that Apple users claim is all they need in a phone.
