I actually quite like ducks. I don't think energy production's goal is to kill the duck, however. Sometimes it happens, it would appear. But nowhere close to the magnitude of hunting.
I'm not sure I get the argument from environmentalists about tailings ponds impact on ducks and birds, when hunters go out and shoot them in far greater numbers. Do environmentalist's go after hunters with such piss and vinegar?
I am not saying ignore the environmental harm the oilsands create, but I don't get why the focus would be there vs. hunters when the hunters kill them at a far more rapid rate is all.
