If Lindegaard's error is enough to have him substituted for de Gea in a friendly, then numerous errors by de Gea in an EPL match, should garner the same.

that's not a sub-par save, that's horrible goalkeeping. Not Massimo Taibi-horrible, but still pretty bad. Lindegaard reminds me a lot of Tomasz Kuzszcak ... a solid back-up that won't make many errors, but who also won't produce an outstanding save when needed. De Gea needs to improve is air defense, but he is fantastic in all the other areas. People also seem to forget that the kid is still only 21. He'll turn into a fantastic goalkeeper if given time and confidence. Lindegaard shouldn't be more than the backup.

De Gea still made some fine saves yesterday, and if not for him, Fulham could have easily got away with a point. I agree that the second Fulham goal was his fault, but aside from that, he was more than solid. And let's be fair here, the pairing of Carrick/Vidic wasn't particularly great yesterday. Vidic isn't up to his standards yet after his injury, and Carrick is not more than a fill-in at best.

yeah, I even think a month is probably too optimistic ... I don't expect him to be back until October or so. I agree with Diane here, Rooney hasn't been at his best against Everton and yesterday - he looked tired and not up to his usual best. But he has never been known to be superb right from the get-go, he usually needs a few games to get going. It's a pity that he's injured right now because he needs to develop chemistry with van Persie and Kagawa ... but at least Fergie won't have any headaches in regards to the line-up for some time. Van Persie as the lone striker with Kagawa just behind him and Valencia and Young on the wings should be the way to go now.
