I like that the Flames had a strategy and stuck to it. Days leading up to the draft we knew that:
-they wanted to trust Weisbrod.
-they didn't think there was a huge discrepancy in pick value after say pick 5 or so (think I heard that on fan960).
-they were open to options on trading for picks
-they knew generally who they wanted
All of the above strategy got executed. Following sound strategy will end up being successful most times. Guys in Columbus / NYI don't appear to have much of a homogeneous strategy.
Edmonton's strategy is to suck ass. Glad ours seems to have everyone on board and that we're following it.
