I worked with a girl years ago who had a lazy eye. After she quit I ran into her on the street one day and noticed her eye was fixed. If I remember correctly it was a surgical procedure that did the trick for her, and she would have been around 30 yrs old at the time.
Anyway, not knocking Hesla's answer, but do yourself a favour and get a professional consultation before you give up on it.
