Actually this "kind" of thing is more prevalent than most think.

I read an article a while back (will look for it) that stated people are starting to understand that complete monogamy is a difficult standard for the majority of the population to adhere to. The gist of it was also geared to the fact that because the whole monogamous existance of marriage was based in religion, there was a good portion of the population questioning its validity. (Sort of goes along with so many of those kind of debates on this very board)

Another thing I found while doing a very minimal follow up on such things was the existance of polyamory. I had never heard of it, but it has a pretty big following for something many had no idea was around.

Basically the belief is that it is illogical to believe that you can only love one person at a time, and apparently there are many households who have multiple adults living in harmony all while sharing beds. I guess this is an offshoot of polygamy....but not the same at all as women can have multiple partners as opposed to strictly juust the males getting that right.

Interesting stuff if nothing else.
