The Mexican authorities appear to have put a complete scapegoat in front of the media to take the fall for this, for the purpose of keeping their tourism industry squeaky clean. By going to Mexico you do endorse their handling of this situation, like it or not.
If you don't have a problem with it, that's your choice. I don't care what you do with your money or your travel decisions.
