I think Jackson's undoing was that he craved power, and wanted to be a coach who had the front office structured his way and had the say on personell descisions.
No doubt he's a very good offensive co-ordinator. Question is can he handle just being an offensive co-ordinator now that he's had his taste of power?
I figured this could be coming though. One thing Scott Pioli was re-iterating yesterday after hiring Crennel was that when you have a coach in place now as opposed to three weeks from now there is a lot more to chose from in terms of building the staff etc. When he came on as Chiefs GM it was later in the off season and I don't think he got the man he wanted. McKenzie I think knows who he wants, but I suspect it might be another year until they get the coaching staff the way they want it.
