I believe they were also against the Buy American movement on the grounds that it went against free market principles. Can those two actions cancel each other out leaving us to look at where the rest of their policies lie on the political spectrum.
In reality though, I think they are simply to the right of the provincial Liberal and NDP parties. That doesn't mean they are actually in favour of things like freer markets or allowing shareholders to maximize the returns on their investments. Especially when the easy road is to agree with the other parties and the loudest voices.
