Now that we have the full story, I think adding the word 'Chinese' is totally relevant to the initial question. PIM is looking for an app that can record a lecture, translate it and then put into text a translated version of the lecture. I would love to know what app this is and would gladly pay a lot for it if it could do it accurately. I've been looking for something like this as well forever.
To answer your first question, I figured you were looking for something like 'Dragon Dictation' but it can't do the translation. Another app is SoundNote which records lectures only but allows you to write notes yourself. It then sync's the recording with notes so if you tap a word, it will go to that part of the recorded lecture. You do need to be pretty close to the lecturer for this to be effective.
Note sure if either one of these would help but they are the one's my nieces use in school and they seem fairly happy with them.
