I'm confused on how this is a trilogy. Maybe I shouldn't look at the Matrix and Star Wars as my definition.

Is a trilogy just 3 films with the same name...or is it 3 films where the first one is the beginning of the story, the 2nd one is the middle of the story and the 3rd is the end of the story?
